Your USP = knowledge of your customer.

Your USP = knowledge of your customer.

Here is a quick way to make sure you are really thinking about your customer, from their perspective, instead of the customer avatar in your head.

Let’s say you are sitting down to write some LinkedIn content (ahem) for your target customer, and are feeling blocked. Before writing a word:

1) Go somewhere your customers are hanging out and actively chatting to each other (FB, Reddit etc)

2) Spend 15-20 minutes reading and listening to what's being talked about. Read between the lines - what are the pain points, the mini-frustrations being surfaced, and the joys being experienced? Really pay attention here, even copy and paste statements that stand out to you.

3) Stop and reflect on your notes - what is being talked about? What words are being used?

Now, start writing.

I guarantee you will now be even closer to standing in both of your customer's shoes than you were before.
